Valentina is a female pot belly pig mix that we rescued from another nonprofit animal rescue that closed its doors in early 2023. She was morbidly obese, nutritionally deficient, extremely shy, and VERY pregnant! A couple weeks after arriving to our sanctuary, Valentina had a dystocia pregnant, and needed an Emergency C-Section surgery! Valentina gave birth to 9 tiny piglets total, but sadly only 5 survived. Her poor body did not even have the energy nor muscle strength to push, and her diet was so poor before arriving here that she was unable to produce a single drop of milk for her piglets. After surgery, Valentina had zero interest in her piglets when we tried to introduce them, so her babies grew up in the house with us-- being hand fed/tube-fed around the clock for the first 8 weeks of their lives!

Valentina is still recovering from her Emergency C-Section Surgery, and working towards losing weight in order to be a successful candidate for spay surgery. She is vaccinated and dewormed, and becoming more and more socialized every day! Once she is fully vetted, Valentina will be available for adoption!
